Rückenflossenstacheln (insgesamt): 7; Rückenflossenweichstrahlen (insgesamt): 8; Afterflossenstacheln 2; Afterflossenweichstrahlen: 8; Wirbelzahl: 24. Fresh samples are translucent lavender, silvery over abdomen; head naked, except opercle with large scales. Anterior nostril in a short membranous tube with a short posterior flap. Longitudinal series, 31 scales. Convex interorbital space.
