Short description Morfologia | Morfometria

This species is distinguished by the following characters: adipose fin with mobile spine connected to the caudal peduncle through a membrane; preadipose membrane extended from the posterior part of the dorsal-fin terminating to the adipose-fin origin; maxillary barbel reaching to the operculum; first pectoral-fin ray larger than the head; pectoral fin with 5-6 soft branched rays associated to the third radial element; dorsal-fin spine is prolonged; first pelvic-fin ray extending beyond urogenital pore; outer row of premaxillary teeth with one bicuspid and 10-11 conical teeth; two outermost caudal-fin rays enlarged; basibranchial bone has Y-shaped inverted form; fifth ceratobranchial bone with 6 teeth in the anterior region; adipose fin located dorsal to the vertebrae 19; first anal-fin pterygiophore ventral to vertebrae 14; vertebrae 24, pleural ribs 10 (Ref. 119425).
