Etymology: Nothobranchius: Greek, nothos = false + Greek, brangchia = gill (Ref. 45335);  ditte: 'ditte', i.e., named in honour after the wife of the author, Edit Csikós, after her nickname. A noun in the nominative singular standing in apposition to the generic name (Ref. 128472).
