背面の脊椎 (合計) : 7; 背鰭 (合計) : 9 - 10; 肛門の骨: 1; 臀鰭: 9 - 10. Males possesses two broad dusky to blackish bars, one ventral to first dorsal fin, one between second dorsal and anal fins. Pectoral with 16-18 rays. In first dorsal fin, membrane touching anterior base of second dorsal fin, black spot between spine and first ray in second dorsal fin, spot sometimes elongate forming a short bar. Preopercular pores present along preopercular margin. Papilose finger-like projections anterior to urogenital papilla (Ref. 57053).
Inhabits fast flowing, clear streams with rocky and boulder-strewn bottom (Ref. 57053).
