Short description
Morfología | Morfometría
This species is distinguished from its congeners entering the freshwater in Atlantic basin by having 43-53 thin gill rakers at about 15-20 cm SL (Ref. 59043).
Adults are pelagic in lacustrine areas (Ref. 59043). The females are larger than males. They spawn in June to July on gravel bars and gravelled shallows around large islands of the lake. Feed mainly on zooplankton. Population occupies a very small range and is threatened by eutrophication (Ref. 59043).
