Épines dorsales (Total): 10 - 11; Rayons mous dorsaux (Total): 23-26; Épines anales 2; Rayons mous anaux: 7; Vertèbres: 25. Teeth weakly differentiated on lower jaw. Dorsal fin soft rays usually 24-25, upper + lower gill rakers 18-19, deep-bodied and a long second anal fin spine.
