Marine; benthopelagic. Temperate; 11°S - 39°S, 42°E - 78°E
Western Indian Ocean: known only from St. Paul's and Amsterdam Islands. Also reported from Tristan da Cunta Island, Vima Mount in the west coast of South Africa and off Australia and New Zealand.
