Diagnosis

This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following characters: presence of a fleshy keel in the posterior end of its supra-occipital plate; it has a greater brachial width and predorsal distance, a supra-occipital with a sharp posterior end; papillary patches 1-6 in the oral cavity; pelvic fin reaching posterior part of the anal fin; interopercular odontodes 2-6; infraorbital plates are different, with the sixth IO is connected to the fifth IO; morphology of maxillary, opercular and basipterigium bones are also different (Ref. 123877 ).
