Diagnosis

Schismatogobius baitabag is distinguished by the following charactersL pectoral fin usually with 15 rays; pectoral flns banded with rows of dark spots; membrane in first dorsal fln posterior to spine 6 partly connected to base of spine of second dorsal fin; male with ventral surface of head, frenum, and pelvic disk yellowish, with black mentum and lower lips; and female with ventral surface of head, frenum and pelvic disk yellowish, with dark mentum (Ref. 116768).
