Occurs in the western part of the Bering Sea and the Sea of Okhotsk, from which it enters the rivers of Kamchatka (few migrants), Commander Is., Okhotsk Coast (abundant), Trans-Ussuri region, Sakhalin, Kuril Is.to Vladivostok. Ascends the Amur not further than Nikolaevsk and is quite common in the Amur Liman and near the Shantar Is. Present in the Penshina River (Ref. 593) and Poronai and Tym' Rivers basins (Ref. 27681).
