Type locality of Plectorhinchus caeruleonothus (QM I.39243), in Queensland, SW of Weipa, Boyd Bay. Known from off western and far northern Australia, between Ningaloo Reef, Western Australia (photos taken at Ningaloo Reef and Exmouth Gulf) and at Claremont Isles and Lizard Island, Queensland (Ref. 103290).
