Type locality, east of Mystery Cay, Queensland, 55 m, QM I.37762 (holotype of

Parapercis flavolabiata, 8.4 cm SL, male). Known from the demersal trawl grounds in the Great Barrier Reef, between Anzac Reefs, 18º47.1'S, 147º57.3'E and Lady Musgrave I., 23º54.9'S,

152º30.9'E, at depths of 45 to 79.2 m (Ref. 59349).
