Two specimens were observed (14 June 2015) along the south-western coasts of the island of Zakynthos, inside the National Marine Park of Zakynthos; in a submerged cave at 26-31 m depth; lying on the walls and ceiling of the dark cave sector (10-15 m from the entrance), often in an upside-down position and displayed an elusive behaviour by swimming rapidly away as divers were approaching. The south-western coasts of Zakynthos are characterized by vertical cliffs often falling sharply to a depth of greater than 30 m and are exposed to wind-driven upwelling currents from the open Ionian Sea (Ref. 104757).
