Occurs throughout mainland Alaska; also St. Lawrence I. (Ref. 27547). Introduced into a number of lakes in southeastern Alaska and on the Kenai Peninula (Ref. 27547). Incidentally taken in brackish nearshore waters of the Alaskan Beaufort Sea (Ref. 28503). Important to subsistence fisheries in some remote areas (Ref. 27547).
