Comments

Type locality of Chimaera ogilbyi, off Sydney, New South Wales; Hydrolagus lemures, Great Australian Bight, off Eucla, Western Australia; and Hydrolagus waitei, Victoria (Ref. 125617). Recorded from off Queensland Plateau (ca. 17° S, 151° E) south to off New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania, east to South Australia and Western Australia north to the Arafura Sea off the Northern Territory (ca. 10° S, 130° E) (Ref. 125617). Abundant in Tasmania where it is a by-catch of vessels fishing for Pterygotrigla polyommata and Nemadactylus macropterus (Ref. 6871). Also Ref. 7300, 75154.
