Known only from Brazilian oceanic islands - St. Paul's Rocks, Fernando de Noronha, and Atol das Rocas (Ref. 48669, 57756). Records of this species from Brazilian coastal waters are misidentifications of Halichoeres brasiliensis. Traded as an aquarium fish at Fortaleza, CearĂ¡ (Ref. 49392). Also Ref. 13121, 33499.
