Known from coast of Atlantic Ocean (Ref. 3015, 43836, 86940), including Elephant Bay (Ref. 86940) and Great Fish Bay or Tiger Bay (Ref. 6432, 86940). It is common in southern Angolan waters (Ref. 27121). Spawning grounds appear to be located between mouth of Congo River and Ponta Negra (Ref. 3166). Also Ref. 188, 2945, 3259.
