Known from Apalachicola and Oconee river drainages (mostly above Fall Line) in Georgia and Alabama; extreme upper Tallapoosa and Etowah river drainages in Georgia; and Toccoa River system (Tennessee River drainage) in Georgia (Ref. 86798). Fairly common only in the upper and middle Chattahoochee River drainage (Ref. 86798); rare elsewhere (Ref. 5723).
