Comments |
Two individuals were collected: one in rocky reefs from Cabo Blanco (Piura) and another from Canoas de Punta Sal (Tumbes). The first one has the typical silvery color of the species, but the second showed a grey-brown coloration with white spots irregularly distributed in its body, which is common when territorial behaviour is displayed (only seen in this species and juveniles of Kyphosus sectatrix, Knudsen & Clements, 2013). This record would be the first formal one in Peruvian waters (E.Z. Cancho, pers.comm. 10 Oct 2022). |
