Type locality, Miyazaki, Meitsu, MUFS 23163 (holotype of Platyrhina tangi, 39.8 cm TL, male). Known from southern Japan (except the Ryukyu and Ogasawara Islands) and reported to be very rare in the Sea of Japan (Ref. 86259). |
