Ranges from the Yukon Territory and British Columbia to Manitoba (Ref. 52559). Known from Mackenzie, Saskatchewan, and Lake Winnipeg drainages in Yukon Territory, Northwest Territories, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia; and Missouri-Mississippi River basin in southern Alberta (Ref. 86798). Rarely caught as a game fish (Ref. 52559). Occasionally used as a food fish (Ref. 1998). Also Ref. 5723, 119194.
