Type locality, Rio Curuá, Iriri drainage, at Vila Castelo dos Sonhos, Altamira, PA, MZUSP 108440 (holotype of Hassar gabiru, 13.04 cm SL). Known from the middle to upper Xingu river basin, and is apparently endemic to the Xingu basin above the raids of Volta Grande, near Altamira (Ref. 87857). |
