Comments: Known from the Chambezi River (upper Congo River basin)(Ref. 26192). Type locality of the lectotype of Labeo simpsoni: "Lukonya, Chambezi River, upstream of Safwa Falls" (Ref. 26192). Note that the original country attribution of the type locality in Ref. 26192 ("Tanzania") is an error (T. Musschoot, pers. comm.).
