Comments: Known from Sunkoshi, Arun, Tamur and Trisuli (Ref. 12045), preferring rhithron streams (Ref. 57735). Occurs in Bagmati, Bheri, Lumbini and Narayani zones at altitudes of 120-1372 m (Ref. 9496). Also found in Kosi, Kali Gandaki and Karnali (Ref. 40948). Used in folk medicine and as ornamental fish by Buddhists.
