Comments: Type locality, Terengganu, Rantau Abang, 56 km to Kuala Terengganu, ZRC 51965 (holotype of Brevibora cheeya, 2.66 cm SL). Known from both in the westerly and easterly flowing river basins of Peninsular Malaysia (western: Selangor; eastern: Terengganu, Pahang, Johor), Central Sumatra (Jambi, Riau) and Banka Island (Ref. 86526).
