Recorded from the Ombrone and Bruna rivers. Stocked unintentionally (Ref. 45688). Restricted to the Padua-Venetian region at least as far as Esino River. Is progressively vanishing from several sites in northern Italy because of habitat destruction (Ref. 12291). Introduced to central and southern Italy (Ref. 59043). Type locality: Lake Garda (Ref. 12965). Also Ref. 94493.
Status of threat: Endangered (Ref. 119201).
