Comments: Type locality of Barbus karunensis, Karun River drainage, Bashar River at Talegah village 10 km north of Yasuj City (Ref. 115584). Known from in Karun River drainage and Beshar, Sangan, Semirom and Behesht Abad Rivers; endemic. It has many populations across its distribution range and there are no known major threat that appears to affect this species; thus, it was classified as Least Concern. (Ref. 124648).
