Occurs in Sumatra, Java, and most major river basins of Borneo including Rejang, Kapuas, and Mahakam (Ref. 7432). Observed in major drainages in Sumatra: Musi, Batang Hari, Indragiri, and Rarem rivers. Also present in southern and western Kalimantan, where it was found in the Barito R. (type locality) (Ref. 46915). Recorded from Danau Sentarum National Park in the Kapuas basin, Kalimantan Barat, Borneo (Ref. 56749).
