Occurs in the coast (Ref. 45255), Chalakudy River in Kerala (Ref. 45207) and Chilka Lake (Ref. 29108). Found in shallow sandy or muddy bottoms. Caught incidentally by prawn trawlers. Flesh excellent to taste. Also Ref. 11298, 43640. In range Ref. 3391.
