Comments:
Type locality of the holotype of Nemachilus abyssinicus: 'Bahardar, Lake Tsana' (Ref. 94279). According to fieldnotes of E. Degen, collector of the holotype, it was collected from 'a lagoon formed by one of the arms of the Abbai at its affluence from the lake' (Ref. 7096). Known from Lake Tana (Ref. 31508, 58460, 84254, 94278, 94279, 96382, 128753) and Baro River (Ref. 58460, 96382). Specimens reported from Gojeb River, tributary of the Omo River (Ref. 31508), have been reidentified as Afronemacheilus kaffa (Ref. 94278).
