Occurs in Odra and Morava river basins (Ref. 54732). Considered near threatened in 2000 (Ref. 41386). The distribution, occurrence, and population status of this species have decreased in the course of the 20th century, above all due to dam constructions, water pollution, and stream canalisation (Ref. 52149).
