Currently found only in the Nanwan River, a tributary of the Ruili River in Yunnan Province. Type locality, Nanwan River (a tributary of upper Irrawaddy), I km from Simenkan Village, Qingping Township, Longchuan County, Yunnan Province (Ref. 75599).
