Present in the rivers Sanaga, Nyong (Ref. 43912, 51193, 81643), Cross (Ref. 81643) and Wouri (Ref. 43912, 81643). Also reported from the Boumba (Dja drainage, middle Congo River basin) (Ref. 51193) but this is unconfirmed in other sources (Ref. 43912, 78218). Report from Messok Messok River (upper Ogooué basin)(Ref. 43912) refers to S. laticeps (Ref. 81643). Also Ref. 3570. Type locality of the syntypes of Eutropius brevianalis: "Dehane, Nyong River" (Ref. 43912).
