Type locality of Ituglanis goya, Goiás, Planaltina, district of São Gabriel de Goiás; Rio Tocantins basin, Ribeirão Cocal, under bridge of GO-118 Road. Known from the tributaries of the right margin of the Rio Paranaíba, Upper Paraná, La Plata Province, and from several watercourses of the upper portion of the Rio Tocantins basin, Amazon Province (Ref. 117615).
