Conservation status: The extinction risk of this species is assessed as low despite limited knowledge of its geographic distribution. It is so far known from a single locality in a creek tributary to the Aripuanã River, Madeira River basin, but additional collecting effort in the region will likely reveal a broader distribution. The species was naturally abundant and specific threats were not detected in the area, which is largely well preserved. Thus, it is tentatively categorized as Least Concern (LC) according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) categories and criteria (Ref. 119375).
