Type locality, Pparque Nacional Montanhas do Tumucumaque, Município Serra do Navio, rio Jari basin, rio Mapaoni, estado do Amapá, IEPA 2497 (holotype of Ammoglanis amapaensis, 1.52 cm SL). Collected from Estado do Amapa, in Rios Amapari, Araguari and Jari basins (Ref. 78711).
