Comments: Known from Rasa de Fora and Escalvada islands, Guarapari, Espirito Santo. Type locality, Rasa de Fora Island, 20°41'S, 40°22'W at 10 meters, UFES 1821 (holotype of Sparisoma tuiupiranga, 14.41 cm SL, terminal phase male); collected by J.L. Gasparini and D.A. Jório, 24 January 1998 (52151).
