Known from the Great Barrier Reef, from Boot Reef at 10° north to the Capricorn Group in the south, Lord Howe island. Type locality, Phillips Point, Lord Howe Island, BPBM 14768 (holotype, male 13.18 cm SL) (Ref. 57555).
