Range extends to the coastal rocky reefs of southern San Matias Gulf, San José Gulf and Nuevo Gulf, Chubut, to 43°S, at least 200 km south of previously reported range. Recorded from capture during spear-fishing tournaments, visual census and sightings, fish collections , and trawl surveys (Ref. 55743). Also Ref. 13442.
