Described from specimens, 6.8 - 10.9 cm, collected from Langbuan, Busuanga, in September 1922. Also collected from Lake Manguao, northern Palawan in 1913 and from Puerto Princesa in 1908. Occurs throughout the Calamianes and Palawan (Ref. 2929). Nine specimens were caught with hook and line in Lake Manguao (4.95 to 11 cm) (Ref. 13489). Used in the aquarium trade (Ref. 12157). Also Ref. 7050. Found in the littoral zone of Manguao Lake; gut analysis showed that it is omnivorous and active at daytime (Ref. 050862). Reported from Estrella Falls in Palawan (Ref. 68595).
