Pigmentation:
Preflexion: On inner pectoral fin base; row of >30 along postanal ventral midline extending onto anal fin; fine specks appear gradually in gular region and ventrally on gut.
Flexion: Scattered on brain; scattered on gut; closer together posteriorly on gut, heavy around anus.
Postflexion: On lower jaw; on trailing edge of pectoral fin; dorsally on body above gut; patch dorsally on skin bubble and in trunk region; 3 patches each on the skin bubble at the margins of dorsal fin and anal fin; series midlaterally on tail.
Juvenile: Variable (usually with wavy lines, sometimes spotted, or plain colored); dorsal fin and anal fin darker at edge. |
