Diagnostic characters: 4 large, stellate melanophores dorsally from nape to caudal peduncle, extending ventrally and forming pigment bands in postflexion larvae; pigment on pelvic fin by 9.2 mm. Sequence of fin formation: caudal (6.0-9.4 mm); dorsal (7.5-10.1 mm); anal (7.5-10.1 mm); pelvic (7.6-8.5 mm); pectoral (7.6-9.6 mm). Larvae settle on the bottom at length greater than 14.5 mm BL. |
