Branchiostegal rays: 6; total first dorsal rays 9-11; pelvics 11; pyloric caeca 15-26; gas glands 4; anal fin forms at a small body length (by 6.5 mm); anus not adjacent to anal fin; elongate first dorsal and pelvic rays; pigmentation absent from lower jaw and snout through anal fin formation, present anteriorly on tail.
Pigmentation:
Preanal fin formation: on top of head; posterior to eye; on preoperculum and operculum; ventral body anterior to gut; on side of gut; on ventral and lateral surface of anterior half of tail.
Anal fin formation: anterior on tail to about anal fin ray 25-32; by about 18 mm, on base of pectoral and pelvic fins.
Sequence of fin formation: pelvics, first dorsal, second dorsal, anal, pectorals. |
