Comments: The North Sea is the major spawning area in the eastern Atlantic, generally at depths of less than 50 m and never beyond 200 m. In the southern part of the range, spawning has been reported to occur in the Southern Bight, Dogger Bank and the English Channel (Ref. 89387).
