Eggs are large, oblong capsules with stiff pointed horns at the corners deposited in sandy or muddy flats (Ref. 205, 80491). Egg capsule measures 81-125 mm long and 50-80 mm wide (Ref. 41251). Mean egg capsule measures 102.5 mm in the Barents Sea (Ref. 124126). Eggs have a striated surface, posterior and anterior apron widths are similar in size, and with broad lateral keels, about 12% of maximum eggs case width. Horns taper towards tips, and the posterior horns are longer than anterior horns by about 1.5 times (Ref. 80491).
