Family:  Cyprinidae (Minnows or carps), subfamily: Labeoninae
Max. size:  21.5 cm TL (male/unsexed); max.weight: 151.8 g
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and upper Myanmar (Ref. 4832). Also reported from Afghanistan (Ref. 39701), Bhutan (Ref. 40882) and Nepal (Ref. 9496).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults inhabit streams and lakes (Ref. 4832). Feed on algae, plants and detritus (Ref. 42699).
