Family:  Gasterosteidae (Sticklebacks and tubesnouts)
Max. size:  7 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Hokkaido, Japan and Sakhalin, Russian Federation.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults inhabit weedy streams. Males build, guard and aerate the nest where the eggs are deposited just above the bottom (Ref. 205, 50519).
