Remarks Bathydemersal in the Bahamas basins, with capture depths of 1239-2166 m. Found in water temperatures around 2.7 to 5°C. Diet varies depending on fish size - individuals measuring less than 17.5 cm consume crustaceans, copepods, ostracods, polychaetes, while those larger than 17.5 cm consume decapod crustaceans and teleosts ; salps are a principal dietary component for all sizes.
