Maxillary barbels without distinct basal membrane; mandibular barbels with few, non-tuberculate ramifications except for internal pair where ramifications are slightly tuberculate (Ref. 81251). Mouth twice as wide as long long with well-developed, papillate lips; low number of premaxillary teeth forming a band as long as the eye; movable mandibular teeth forming a transverse band, 42-50 in number (Ref. 81251). Humeral process is large, acutely pointed, rugose and with a slight keel on the lower side, 1.9 longer than deep (Ref. 81251). Dorsal spine serrated along anterior edge (Ref. 81251). Base of adipose fin is 1.4 times longer than distance from dorsal to adipose fin and 4.1 times deeper (Ref. 81251). Pectoral fin spine prolonged by a filament, and strongly serrated along the interior edge, more than along the posterior edge (Ref. 81251). Pelvic fin not reaching the anal fin (Ref. 81251). Colour: Body and belly marbled or spotted; spots are smaller on the head and form marbling on the flank and the belly; a light median band present; fins with brownish spots arranged in transverse series (Ref. 81251).
