soft rays: 7. Differs from all its congeners by the following characters: oral sucking disc large with posterior edge beyond vertical of anterior margin of eye; snout with small tubercles; body depth more than 17.2% SL; mid-ventral region anterior to pelvic-fin insertion scaleless; central freshly pad of disc nearly oblong; interorbital width beyond half of HL (50.6-58.5% HL); pelvic-fin beyond anal-fin origin; anus closer to anal-fin origin, anus to anal-fin origin distance less than 25% posterior end of pelvic-fin base to anal-fin origin distance; head length 20.6-24.4% SL; head depth 14.4-16.6% SL (Ref. 75176).
Prefers to inhabit fast-flowing water of limpid streams with cobble substrate in the water body. Reported by local people to feed mainly on algae and aquatic plants (Ref. 75176).
